Academics
Sankofa Scholars who complete 8th grade at a Sankofa Excellence school will transition to high school well prepared. Our elementary school, comprised of two academies, is designed to build a strong academic foundation. Regardless of the academy chosen, we will ensure that our students receive a high-quality education.
Grade Level Standard
We have set an on-grade level standard for all students entering 3rd grade. This means that by the time a child completes 2nd grade, they will be performing on or above grade level in Reading and Math. This high expectation is aligned with our commitment to ensuring equity and excellence for all.
Three Academies, One School
Students in elementary school will have the option of choosing between our Language Immersion program and our Leadership Development program. Each academy will provide a high quality education and students in both programs will receive our specialized Project Based Learning Sankofa Excellence Social Studies program.
Our middle school scholars will be enrolled in our Sankofa Excellence Leadership Academy. Students in this academy will be paired with a College, Career, and Life Readiness mentor who will support and coach them through middle school, high school, college, and/or the first year of their career.
